With CSU bidding for its first title in 41 years in the division one men's competition, Lake Albert spoiled the party by toppling the university tema 4-3 in a premiership thriller.
Likewise, Lake Albert also upstaged CSU in the division one women's grand final, winning by two goals.
After a series of sensationally tight finishes in the lower grade deciders, Lake Albert virtually romped 3-1 over their CSU rivals to clinch a third straight title.
Earlier, penalty shootous were needed to settle the results of four other Wagga hockey grand finals.
In a remarkable situation, the men's and women's division three deciders both went to penalty shootouts, with Royals and CSU Navy respectively eventually landing the coveted premiership prize.
Royals and Mustands were locked at one-all in the men's grand final before Royals got home 3-1 in the shootout, while CSU and Rosellas did not score a goal in regular time.
Ultimately, CSU Navy broke the spell by winning 3-1 in the penalty shootout.
In other grades, Lake Albert beat Harlequins in men's division two and Pink downed Black in the under-16 grand final following tense penalty shootouts.
