Students at St Joseph's in Lockhart - Fletcher, 10, Mia, eight, and Phoebe, six - were on Tuesday afternoon found dead at their property on the Lockhart-Boree Creek Road, south of Boree Creek.
Their mother, 41-year-old Kim Hunt, was also found shot dead on a path at the rear of the house, while husband and father, 44-year-old Geoff Hunt's body was located in a nearby dam on Wednesday afternoon.
Wagga Catholic Schools Office school services consultant Dave Collie said the main priority was to support the students, staff and community touched by the deaths of year four student Fletcher, year two student Mia and kindergarten student Phoebe.
"We're confident they (the community) will pull through and support each other."
Staff at St Joseph's staged counselling sessions and church services to the grieving community on Tuesday.
"We are deeply saddened by the tragic death of Kim Hunt and her children Fletcher, Mia and Phoebe at Boree Creek, near Lockhart yesterday," Catholic Schools said on behalf of St Joseph's.
"We pray for the family, friends, and the whole of St Joseph's Primary School and the Lockhart community."
The school staff introduced Centacare counsellors available on site to support the children.
Parish Priest Father Tony Schipp led a 10am Mass service and the church will continue to be open to parents and community members.
"The school will attend a community meeting this afternoon to discuss ongoing community based supports," they said.
"We ask that in supporting one another and in helping children process their emotions and respond to this tragedy that information is shared in a factual and age-appropriate manner.
"The Lockhart community is a very strong and resilient one and we know that they will bond together and support one another in working through this difficult time."
Department of Education and Communities spokesperson confirmed counselling for Lockhart Central School and Boree Creek Public School was arranged overnight on Monday and implemented Tuesday to serve the small close-knit communities impacted by the tragedy.
