Williams ended his high successful rugby league career when Brothers thrashed Temora at Equex Centre on Sunday.
Immediately after the game, Williams announced boxing would now become his sole sporting passion.
And in typical style, Williams has wasted no time in organising one of the biggest bouts of his boxing life.
The Williams camp yesterday received confirmation the Wagga boxer will defend his WBF World Junior Welterweight title in the city on October 18.
Amid great excitement, Williams has been booked to fight a "crafty and well-schooled" Indonesian: boxer Rusman Kie Raha at Bolton Park Stadium.
Kie Raha has a quality reputation and a resume to boot, winning 12 of his 19 bouts, including two draws.
Significantly, the new Williams management has also been approached by the highly-regarded WBC to put another title on the line next month.
Regarded as the most prominent sanctioning body in world boxing, the WBC has set up Williams and Kie Raha to also fight for the Asia Continental Title, giving the bout dual title status.
Williams yesterday was thrilled at the opportunity to get a world ranking within the WBC framework.
"It's a huge deal," William said.
"WBC is arguably the most notable boxing name.
"This is a huge step for us."
Williams said the prospect of fighting for two two world titles in one great bout was exciting.
"I'm extremely thankful to have the opportunity," he said.
"In saying that, I now need to win the fight.
"Getting the fight is a step in the direction, winning would be huge."
Williams said completing his rugby league commitment would allow seven weeks to get in perfect shape for the bout.
"We're back in business," he said.
"This is what it is all about."
The Bolton Park Stadium card on October 18 seems guaranteed to another huge crowd puller as it will showcase local talent and a host of boxers from across NSW on a hotly-contested under card.
Tickets for the fight will go on sale this week, with VIP tables and regular seating available about through the JWB gym.
