MANGOPLAH-Cookardinia United-Eastlakes midfielder Col Sanbrook believes the Goannas' must make a few minor adjustments if they are to go "all the way" in the upcoming finals series.
The Goannas will get their finals campaign underway on Saturday when it takes on reigning premier Coolamon in the Riverina Football League (RFL) qualifying final at Narrandera Sportsground.
MCUE has not been able to win the RFL senior premiership since its arrival in the competition in 1995 but has enjoyed its most successful home and away season to finish in second spot.
Sanbrook, a premiership player at St Marys in 2008, is confident the Goannas have got what it takes to taste the ultimate success.
"We've got a healthy list so that's one good thing," Sanbrook said.
"We've got the players to go a long way, we just need to tweak a few things to go all of the way.
"The talent is there, there's just a few things we've got to tinker with."
Sanbrook has been outstanding in his first season back at MCUE.
He claimed the club's best and fairest award.
He also took out the inaugural RFL Player of the Year award.
Sanbrook has won one premiership through his senior career and been on the losing side on grand final day on two other occasions.
The talented midfielder admits he is a little nervous about what lies ahead.
"I'm excited and a bit apprehensive," Sanbrook said.
"Just because we've come this far, we've done enough to get to second, I want it to keep going.
"I don't want to trip up now."
MCUE went down to Coolamon earlier this year in a three-point thriller at Mangoplah Sportsground.
The Goannas responded in style with a commanding 66-point victory over Coolamon at Kindra Park later in the year.
Sanbrook expects Coolamon to be much harder opposition this time around.
"They're going to be tough," he said.
"They rolled us the first time and we got the better of them the second time, but this time they've got Joe Redfern.
"I know guys like Lew Roberts, Ben Fixter, Pete McGrath, they're going to lift for finals.
"The first quarter we're going to see what it's all about.
"They've got plenty of finals experience where as our kids don't.
"We'll get a good gauge on how we're going early on."
