Sitting in Wagga District Court on Monday morning, Judge Ross Letherbarrow listed the matter for Wednesday, September 3.
However, if some trials listed for hearing in the current sittings become shorter matters, the case might be brought forward.
Pieper's solicitor John Weir told Judge Letherbarrow he expected sentencing submissions to take two to three hours.
Mr Weir said he had had prepared a written sentencing submission and five witnesses would give oral evidence about Pieper.
Crown trial advocate Brendan Queenan agreed with Mr Weir's time estimate and said he had also prepared a written submission for the judge to consider.
Judge Letherbarrow said he had received a pre-sentence report on Pieper prepared by NSW Corrective Services.
Pieper, 56, pleaded guilty to the six charges in Sydney District Court on July 9, averting the need for a trial that was listed for a month.
The court was told then that between January 2001 and December 2010, Pieper used Riverina Water's corporate credit card for private expenses.
Allegations also included Pieper paying $115,830 into his Commonwealth Bank account between September 4 and September 27, 2007, and transferring money between accounts to the value of $14,500 during September, 2009.
Pieper also pleaded guilty to acquiring a Holden Statesman Caprice, a Mitsubishi Pajero and a Ford PJ Ranger XL dual cab – all property of the council.
