COLEAMBALLY could be facing the prospect of chasing down its maiden Farrer League flag without the services of one of the competition's best players.
In-form ruckman-forward Dean Pound sustained a hamstring injury late in the third quarter during Saturday's qualifying final loss to East Wagga-Kooringal.
He was running for a contest but suddenly came to a halt and grabbed his left hamstring.
He left the ground and immediately put ice on the injury, playing no further part in the game.
Blues coach Mitch Carroll admitted he was unsure of the severity of the injury.
"I haven't spoken to him but I think he's done his hammy," Carroll said.
"He'll probably be doubtful for next week."
Pound has arguably been the Farrer League's best player this year and is considered a big chance of winning the Gerald Clear Medal.
He wasn't the only Coleambally player to pull up lame from Saturday's qualifying final.
Key defender Fred Stephan copped a fair bump from EWK opponent Stu Brierty in the last quarter and had to be escorted off the ground.
Stephan lay motionless for at least a minute as play was stopped, and he could barely walk to the sideline.
Both players will be in serious doubt for Sunday's semi final.
It capped off a sour day for Coleambally, who suffered its second consecutive loss to premiership threat EWK.
