SEATS on the NSW team bus will be up for grabs when the region's sharpest shooters flock to Wagga for the State Skeet Championships this week.
Around 120 competitors will lug their shotguns to the Tasman Road national shooting grounds to battle it out over three days.
The championships will kick off on Friday but the top-class events will be held on Saturday and Sunday.
State medals will be on the line across four grades - AA, A, B and C - and shooters will range from 12-year-old juniors to seasoned veterans of the sport.
"The beauty of these championships is that on any given day, anyone can win an event," NSW executive committee member Janine Schiller said.
"We've got about 100 pre-nominations so far but we would expect about 15 or 20 more to nominate on the weekend."
Shooters will travel from all over NSW, parts of Victoria and even possibly Queensland and South Australia to compete.

A number of Wagga locals will be in the mix.
While anyone can compete for the medals, only competitors living in NSW will be vying for places in the state skeet representative teams.
Those selected will shoot for NSW at next year's National Skeet Championships in Wagga.
"Obviously one of the main reasons these state championships are conducted is to pick our NSW teams for the nationals," Schiller said.
"There should be some really good competition."
The list of entrants is headlined by current national high-gun champion Michael Buttigieg, who dominated the Australian championships earlier this year.
Teenage talent Aislin Jones from Victoria also performed well at the nationals and will return to have a crack at the state titles.
