Harpley became the third trainer to complete the double when Sokys Bigbullet and Justanotherslippa scored wins in the $25,000 races.
Harpley joined Narrandera trainer Jackson Painting and Newcastle trainer Shane Tritton in the completing the achievement.
Twice second in the lucrative final, Sokys Bigbullet broke through for the win in a new best mile rate of 1:55.6.
Justanotherslippa then took advantage of a good draw to score his second win to complete the double.
Previously trained by part-owner Norm Jerrick, Harpley has had the horse for three starts and two wins.
The trainer-driver was surprised to come away with the metropolitan double.
"I've only got three horses in work and they've all won a $25,000 race in metropolitan company in their last start," he said.
"I can't believe that."
The third is star mare Frith, who will race at Menangle on Saturday night in the lead up to the Breeders Crown.
Taking on the mares Harpley believes the race will top her off for the semi-final on August 17, even if the mile isn't her best distance.
Sokys Bigbullet will also travel to Menangle for a C3-C5 race.

IT'S been more than seven years since Wagga horseman Adrian Short trained a winner, but the drought has well and truly been broken.
Short trained three winners in four days, scoring with Our Santa Catalina at Kilmore on Thursday night, Just In Case at Albury on Friday and The Baggy Green at Young on Sunday.
Prioritising his young family, Short got out of the sport and has only returned in the last 12 months.
Our Santa Catalina and The Baggy Green are both owned by Wagga couple Scott and Kathy Robertson and were transferred to Short's care following Jake Stockton's positive swab.
After an unlucky third at Wagga in her last start for trainer Stephen Maguire, Our Santa Catalina shocked punters at Kilmore, scoring a comfortable 4.9-metre win at 20/1.
The Baggy Green then backed up her second in the Go Girlfriend Series with a win in the $20,000 NSW Breeders Challenge Regional at Young.
Both are only having short stays in Short's stable.
"I was lucky enough for those two the land here," Short said.
"Our Santa Catalina is in Victoria now, so I only had her for a week, and the other mare will head down there shortly."
Our Santa Catalina finished secobd in a Breeders Crown heat at Bendigo last night for David Moran, while The Baggy Green is set to join Moran's stable after racing at Young tomorrow.
Despite both horses moving on Short is hoping to continue is good run of form with Just In Case.
"It will take a fair bit to top that weekend, but hopefully we can keep them running along," he said.
Just In Case had to do it the hard way on debut for Short, sitting outside the leader to score.
Describing the four-year-old gelding as "an absolute monster", standing at 17 hands, he's a half brother to multiple group one winner For A Reason and multiple group one placegetter Lettucereason.
Just In Case will have his second start for Short at Albury's meeting on Saturday night.
