VANDALS have put preparations for two major golf tournaments at The Rock in disarray, with the course sustaining severe damage.
Six holes on the course have been affected, with areas of fairways ripped up as well as damage to greens.
It is believed joy-riders with a motorbike and four-wheel drive are responsible for the damage, which occurred on Saturday night.
Some damage was noticed on Sunday, but it wasn't until further inspections on Monday that the severity of the damage was realised.
With the ladies annual tournament and the men's Riverina sandgreen championship to be played at the course in the next month, ladies president Carol McGrath said the timing couldn't be worse for the club.
"The first hole is particularly bad, as is the green on the 12th," McGrath said.
"It makes to difficult for people to go out on the golf course."
Members of the club and volunteers have been hard at work securing fencing in an attempt to keep vandals out.
Temporary gates have been put up with require keys for access, with volunteers also working to repair the course.
"It's all volunteer work and a lot of hard work and time has gone into getting the course right as we've had a lot of rain," McGrath said.
"They seem to have found the softer sections as well."
Local rules will be brought in to help play continue despite the damage with McGrath hopeful golfers wouldn't be too affected by the changes.
