GRIFFITH midfielder Guy Orton hopes to be fit for the Swans' final roll of the dice against Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong on Sunday.
Orton injured his shoulder in Griffith's horrific 143-point loss to Mangoplah-Cookardinia United-Eastlakes last Saturday at Mangoplah Sportsground.
Orton hopes that he can recover in time for Sunday's trip to Ganmain Sportsground.
Griffith's finals hopes were almost delivered a knockout blow by MCUE last weekend but any glimmer of hope for finals action rests with a win over the fifth-placed Lions on Sunday.
Orton hopes he can be fit for the big game against GGGM.
"It's better than Saturday but still not 100 per cent," Orton said yesterday.
"I'll just rest it (at training on Tuesday night) and see how I go Thursday."
Orton's injury could not come at a worse time for Griffith.
Key players Mick Duncan, Michael Griffiths and coach Brandon Mathews have all been battling with injury.
Richard Malone and Trevor Richards have also been unavailable.
The Swans were forced to make six changes last weekend and that was with Griffiths and Mathews playing.
The big loss to MCUE last weekend means Griffith is now two games, plus 28 percentage points behind GGGM in fifth spot.
Turvey Park has jumped the Swans to move within a game of fifth but face the top three teams to finish the year after Saturday's game against Leeton-Whitton.
Meantime, Leeton-Whitton has re-signed coach Dave Meline for next season.
Meline is a club legend at the Crows and has performed admirably through difficult circumstances this season.
The Crows have won the two games this season but have consistently fielded the youngest team in the competition.
Leeton-Whitton face Turvey Park at Leeton Showground on Saturday but the Crows are unlikely to have Bryce O'Garey (hamstring) or Sean Browning (ribs) due to injury.
