In August alone, there are three major equestrian events planned for the facility, bringing significant tourist dollars the city.
The impressive schedule starts on August 2-3 with the Riverina Equestrian Association annual showjumping annual championships at the CSU venue.
In addition to the range of amateur and professional riders, this festival attracts a large junior rider contingent.
With entries already in excess of 100 riders, the showjumping club is anticipating as many as 300 visitors including family members, grooming staff and support crew.
The showing event will be a perfect precursor to another major equestrian event at CSU on August 16-17.
The Riverina Reining Horse Association, the newest member of the REA, will hold a national event on that weekend.
A spectacular lead-up to the Australian titles, the RRHA is anticipating 150 riders from across the country, effectively drawing another 300 travellers to Wagga.
Organisers are hopeful of attracting a large number of spectators for the Saturday evening segment of the competition.
Likewise, equestrian supporters are sure to flock to the CSU facility on August 24 when Wagga Dressage Club holds one of its four major competitions of the year.
Taking a line through a previous WDC event staged at the new centre, entries are expected to top 120 riders, with many riders keen use it as a lead in to the annual championships on November 1-2.
REA officials believe the feast of three equestrian disciplines next month at the CSU complex will give the local economy a boost, particularly through the purchase of fuel and food and accommodation bookings.
The influx of competitors for the the various events in August is further proof the new facilities at CSU, which are yet to be completed, have enhanced Wagga - and the Riverina - as a highly desirable sporting destination.
