WELL bred two-year-old filly The Final Frontier scorched around Leeton on Saturday night, clocking the third fastest winning time for a two-year-old.
Having her first start for Morundah trainer David Druitt, the daughter of Sportswriter stopped the clock in 1:59.3.
On a cold night, her time was only slower than the last two editions of the MIA Breeders Plate.
Rich Virgin set a new two-year-old track record in January winning in a mile rate of 1:58.6.
The Ben Matthews-trained gelding broke Business In Motion's time of 1:59.2, and The Final Frontier's time is now a two-year-old fillies track record.
Out of 100 per cent producer and South Australian Oaks winner Saved A Corka, the filly was placed in two of her three starts for Victorian trainer Geoff Webster before coming to Druitt's stable.
She will have a busy week, racing at Echuca last night and is engaged in a Breeders Crown heat at Ballarat on Saturday.
Druitt also had Starzzz On Parade racing at Echuca and after finishing second in three of her last four starts McQueen Regal will also travel to Ballarat, trying to break through for her first win since August.

IT was a bright day for West Wyalong trainer Jeremy Lamb at Young on Friday, scoring his first winner for over three years.
In his fourth start, Bright And Sonny was able to breakthrough, overcoming a second row draw to score a tough win after racing without cover.
The 25-year-old has trained or driven a winner since 2011 when Evita Repo won on his home track.
Lamn bred the gelding and owns him with girlfriend Chelsea Hagar, making it a little more special.
"It was good to get a win on a horse I own and bred with my girlfriend," Lamb said.
Debuting at Wagga in May and finishing fifth, two seconds in his next two starts put the writing on the board for the win.
"He keeps improving every time he goes out," Lamb said.
Bright And Sonny is the only horse Lamb has in work, but he's happy to keep it that way in the winter months.

AMANDA Turnbull brought her up 200th winner of the season at Young's meeting on Friday.
After breaking through the 200 wins barrier for the first time last season, NSW's leading driver brought up the milestone in the first race of the program.
Steering King Caractacus to victory for aunt Anne Hancock, it was the horse's first win in Australia and his trainer's first win for over 40 years.
Turnbull drove three winners on the card including a double for cousin Josh Turnbull.
Josh trained a race-to-race treble on Friday with Mayihaveabiscuit, Im The Intimidator and Lets Go Diego all winning.

AFTER falling just short 200 wins as a trainer last season, Steve Turnbull could bring up the milestone at Young's meeting on Sunday.
The Bathurst conditioner was one win short of hitting the mark for the first time last season and is currently on 195 wins.
With five weeks left in the season, Turnbull will reach the milestone, but it's now a matter of when.
Turnbull didn't train a winner at Young's card on Friday, but a double at Menangle on Saturday night put him within touching distance.
Turnbull had 13 horses in six races last night at Bathurst, has runners in five races at Menangle this Saturday before travelling to Young with five horses engaged.

FORMER Ganmain horse KerryAnn Turner was another to bring up a milestone last week, driving her 100th winner for the season.
After bringing up the century of training wins earlier this season, Turner's win aboard Fernleigh Renegade on Saturday night brought up the double.
Partner Robbie Morris normally does most of the driving duties for the stable, so it was a mark she thought she wouldn't reach.
However Morris' injury has seen her take over the reins full time and she's been able to almost double her wins from last season.

A LARGE contingent of Riverina trainers travelled to Cobram on Thursday, but only Kim Hillier came home a winner.
After a string on seconds, Major Jules returned to the winners circle in a three-year-old race.
The Major In Art gelding has won five races this season for Hillier, but his win at Cobram was his fastest, in a mile rate of 1:58.1.
In the last month Hillier has established a relationship with Victorian-based David Moran, who drove the gelding to victory.

A winner of 13 from 57, plus a further 14 placings, ten of her wins have come under the care of KerryAnn Turner.
The success of Redbank Lodge Standardbreds continued on Tuesday.
Lettucerockthem won his heat of the Breeders Crown for three-year-old colts and geldings while Bamako Mali, bred by Redbank, claimed a heat of the Breeders Crown for two-year-old fillies.
