Playing in his debut season in first grade, the teenager turned on a one-man demolition of the Dragons by scoring six blistering tries.
Pouncing for three tries in the first half as the Thunder were surprisingly held to 16-all by the Dragons, Hampton repeated the blazing effort in the second half.
And, by the time he was finished, Hampton had set a new try-scoring benchmark on the border - and the Thunder had given the Dragons a 60-16 drubbing in the process.
Stunned by Temora tries to Matt Hughes (ninth minute) and Michael Henderson (15th), Albury was reeling with a 10-0 deficit before Ben Jeffery scored in the 21st minute.
Jeffery's try, however, was only small relief for Albury before Hayden Philip crossed for the Dragons to push the lead to 16-4 in the 24th minute.
Needing a saviour, the Thunder definitely found their man in Lachie Hampton.
Showing speed and skill beyond his years, Hampton struck for tries in the 27th, 34th and 37th minutes to get the Thunder level by half-time.
Carrying on his amazing streak, Hampton bagged another three tries in the second term as the Thunder completely left the Dragons in their wake.
In yet another whirlwind second half display, Albury roared on eight unanswered tries to give Temora a cold on the scoreboard - and put Hampton in elevated company.
Taking up where he left off in the first half, Hampton zoomed over for tries in the 56th, 71st and 76th minutes to give the Thunder another overwhelming success
Albury coach Josh Cale, who will be replaced by Jeffery in 2015, was later in awe of Hampton's try-scoring prowess.
For the Thunder, the victory kept the team on top of the table, while the Dragons fell further of the pace.
At Laurie Daley Oval, meanwhile, Junee breezed past Tumbarumba 36-16 to end a horror fortnight.
Fresh from successive losses to powerhouses Southcity and Albury, the Diesels appreciated the drop in class to upstage the Greens.
Teenager Cameron Hands, who moved from the wing to halfback when Daniel Foley (hamstring) was injured, and speedy Tim Gustowski were later lauded as stars in the home town success.
Despite predictions of on-field mayhem, the game went by without any flare-ups.
