THE glorious old halls that grace the Riverina's small communities have been lit up by a rising music sensation, with moving gigs drawing the attention of communities that often fall quiet.

Fanny Lumsden and her band the Thrillseekers have a musical style that is best described as a combination of genres - alternate, country, folk and pop.
The tour began in Tooma, about 35 minutes from Tumbarumba, before heading off to Rand and Jugiong at the weekend.
"It's a privilege to play in these halls that have been the centre of their community for so many years and to be bringing live music to the bush is something pretty special," Lumsden said.
"So excited to be playing in the halls again - they are my favourite kind of venue and I love it that the whole community gets out and has a fun night."
The single, Sea Elephant School, fits well with the kind of image the musical outfit projects of itself: honest, down to earth and country at heart.
The song was written by Lumsden on the back verandah of the family's Riverina farmhouse and is an interpretation of her surroundings.
Organisers of the regional halls tour, in its third year running, are still inviting aspiring and established artists to perform at the remaining two concerts in Weethalle and Grong Grong.
