A date has been set for Ms Norman to travel to Russia mid-next year and efforts to raise the $100,000 needed for the treatment are in full swing, with $15,000 collected for the cause to date.
This Saturday, Ms Norman and her friends who are helping to raise the money she needs for treatment will hold a retro-themed fund-raiser at the Rules Club where people can dance the night away for a good cause.
"I have a big board at my house where I've written things I want to do (after my treatment)," Ms Norman said.
"Dance is at the top."
Four Australians left for Russia last week for the life-changing stem cell treatment.
The treatment is currently being trialled in Australia but Ms Norman was told she was ineligible to receive it by the two centres that offer it.
The stories Ms Norman is hearing from those who have travelled to Russia for the treatment are filling her with hope that by this time next year, the burden MS has put on her life may have eased significantly.
"It's not a cure but it's giving people back the quality of life and basically getting rid of all their symptoms," she said.
"Anyone that's living with MS, you can't not want to have that hope."
Tickets for Saturday's event, which starts at 7.30pm, are $20 and available from the Rules Club or the Southcity Takeaway.
