After losing its first two games, the Bulls have bounced back with a big win over Tumut last Sunday, before coming away from a difficult trip to Gundagai with an 18-10 win.
Coach Daniel Fitzhenry labelled the performance a massive improvement on what the Bulls dished up to start the season.
After the Tigers pounced to open the scoring, it was the Bulls forwards that did the damage creating a platform for the back line.
Bulls forwards Jordan Shepherd, Nick Skinner, Kieran Schauf and Brent Snowden led the way coming up against Gundagai big man Rulon Nutira.
"Our front-rowers really dug in and have a good go," Fitzhenry said.
"They went forward really well and defended all day."
Ned Mortimer played his best game of the year as a makeshift fullback, with Scott Bowden still struggling with his ankle injury.
Leading 14-4 at half-time the solid defensive effort of the Bulls continued in the second half, letting in one more try in the second half.
"It's a big improvement and we still have lots to work on, but from where we were two weeks ago to where we are now is a massive improvement," Fitzhenry said.
"We were a bit sloppy with the ball at stages and probably could have scored a couple more tries, but defensively I was very happy."
Coming away with the tough away win was a bonus for Fitzhenry's men who host Albury next Sunday.
Neither team will have an ideal preparation coming into the match up with seven players to play for Riverina in the first round of the country championships at Singleton on Saturday.
"Albury is the benchmark and have been for the last two or three years so we know we have a tough game and to make things harder we will have limited preparation time with four blokes in the Riverina rep game," Fitzhenry said.
"They will have to do the same as they will have blokes backing up and hopefully we can build on what we did (Saturday) and put up a good fight."
