Mr Fischer will speak about written material produced by Diggers from the region, such as diaries, held by the NSW State Library that are slowly emerging online thanks to a new project.
Of particular interest to Mr Fischer are the diaries of General Sir John Monash, from Jerilderie, who kept two distinct sets of diaries, one a more formal diary and a second set that detailed his private thoughts intimately.
Mr Fischer will also address the diary of Chaplain Frank Rolland, which features passages on his trip into No Man's Land during the First World War.
"It was still almost dark but I noticed a few German shells dropping behind us and towards us, so I crept over to the doctor and advised him to push on further at once," Mr Rolland wrote.
"He agreed and as we stood up and moved again, the scene was indescribably apocalyptic."
