THE JERILDERIE community is mourning the loss of one of their firefighters after a single vehicle crash on Sunday.

23-year-old Fire and Rescue firefighter Ambrose Crittenden died at Albury Base Hospital at about 3pm on Sunday due to injuries sustained in the crash.
His car crashed on Showground Road at Jerilderie, about 160 kilometres north-east of Albury.
Tragically, Ambrose's father, John, who is also the Jerilderie deputy captain, responded to the accident.
Ambrose's twin brother Ignatius was also in attendance.
NSW Minister for Police and Emergency Services Michael Gallacher has extended his condolences to family and friends of Ambrose.
"Ambrose’s tragic death is a significant and sad loss for the firefighting family and the wider community," he said.
Crew at Jerilderie Fire Station have been temporarily stood down.
