In a stunning recruitment coup, powerful Prevett has moved from Group 20 to give the Kangaroos pack a "massive" boost in strength and quality.
Although edging veteran class, Prevett, 34, is recognised as a formidable figure in club and representative rugby league in the Riverina - and across the bush.
In 2013, Prevett opened the season with Group 10 club Orange CYMS before gaining a mid-year release to play for West Wyalong, the team he took to the Group 20 title in 2005.
Speaking to The Daily Advertiser yesterday, Hall was clearly thrilled to have Prevett on board for what should be the most competitive Group Nine premiership in a decade.
"He's (Prevett) a massive pick up," Hall said yesterday.
"It's no secret we (Kangaroos) were lacking a bit of size.
"He's (Prevett) 94kg and rock hard.
"He'll be very handy, especially with a young side."
For Hall, the chance to have Prevett in the team takes his burgeoning career a full circle.
"Ryan actually coached me at Orange CYMS a few years ago," Hall said.
"It'll be good to be in the same side again."
Hall said Prevett's signing had been totally unheralded by the Wagga club.
"He (Prevett) rang me out of the blue and said he was moving to Wagga," Hall said.
"I just said 'what I can do for you'.
"And it all went from there."
Significantly, Roos have complemented the recruitment of Prevett by snaring another sizeable forward.
Boom Scone front rower Tyler Austin has moved to Wagga to study at CSU, and is set to make an impact with Roos.
Austin played for the Clydesdales last year and also represented the Greater Northern Tigers, formerly Northern Division.
Hall said Prevett and Austin were "exactly" the players the Wagga team needed to challenge Albury and Southcity for the Group Nine crown.
"Size definitely helps," Hall said.
"He's (Austin) a big kid and has a good reputation."
Austin and Prevett are likely to make their debut for Roos in upcoming trials.
Hall said Roos will play second division team Trundle on Saturday week before stepping up to meet Wollongong club Thirroul on March 22.
"The first game of the year is always the hardest," Hall said.
"It'll be a good way to start (against Trundle).
"Thirroul will be pretty strong."
