AG COLLEGE is on the verge of finally securing a coach for the upcoming season.
After competing in the rugby 10s tournament in Albury on Saturday without a coach, Jack Burey is only waiting for board approval before taking on the role.
In only his second year at the club after moving from arch rivals CSU after the 2012 season, Burey will meet with Ag College hierarchy on Thursday night looking to get the role confirmed.
The playmaker has been helping the club through its limited pre-season so far this season, but is looking to step up training after receiving the official confirmation.
"Once it goes through (the board) we'll start getting into full-time training because as we haven't had a coach we haven't done a lot of training at all," Burey said.
Although not expecting any dramas getting the role confirmed Burey isn't sure of what to expect when he fronts the board.
"I don't think there would be but I'm not sure what they are going to say," he said.
The Brumbies development officer is poised to replace Richard Turnbull who stood down after a disappointing season for the Aggies.
After being premiers in 2012, Ag College failed to reach the premier division finals finishing fifth in the top tier of the competition.
They and weren't able to take their second chance of redeeming their season with a first division premiership falling to surprise packet Temora in the Romanos Cup grand final by three points.
Ag College is the only SIRU club yet to finalise their coach.
