Yesterday, responding to the Suncorp Bank report, council manager of environment and regulatory services Mark Gardiner said he thought the large number of sports grounds and upcoming redevelopments added to the appeal of the city.
"Council looks at these kinds projects as an element to enhance the lifestyle of residents," Mr Gardiner said, making reference to the multimillion-dollar refurbishment of Roberton Oval.
"We are looking forward to the NAB Cup and a range of other events, which I think people in a regional area look forward to being able to see."

The Suncorp report didn't measure entertainment or community development as a sub category, but KPMG demographer Bernard Salt said it was certainly a factor when families considered moving.
"People look at entertainment options in place, which includes community facilities and the type of entertainment they'll have available to them," Mr Salt said.
Mayor Rod Kendall said the past Australia Day long weekend was a prime example of what the city had to offer.
"We had three days of family-friendly events," Councillor Kendall said.
"It demonstrates the community spirit in the city."
