Teys yesterday donated $26,000 it raised from its recent charity golf day to Ronald McDonald House in Wagga.
Alongside the sizeable donation made to Ronald McDonald House, Teys also donated $1000 each to the Wagga Prostate Cancer Support Group and the Amie St Clair Melanoma Trust.
Meanwhile, a chance meeting some years ago by a Country Hope director with a member of the Order of St Lazarus Foundation has paid a $10,000 dividend for the Riverina-based organisation.
Director Rod Dunlop was at a Wagga hotel when Bill Killinger, a member of the foundation asked him the best way to get to Griffith.
A fortnight ago Mr Dunlop received a call asking him and Country Hope chairman John Studdert to attend the annual Patronal Feast of the Order of St Lazarus to receive a cheque for $10,000.
The Patronal Feast included a church service in the crypt of St Mary's Cathedral, followed by a dinner and presentation at City Tattersalls Club.
Schools in Wagga have also been doing their bit to help out those in need in the lead-up to Christmas.
Kids at Henschke Primary School yesterday donated toys and food to St Vincent de Paul, while at The Riverina Anglican College donations were made to the Anglicare Christmas Appeal.
