HIGH-CREDENTIALLED Hugh Palmer has agreed to coach Waratahs in the Southern Inland Rugby Union premiership next year.
Two months after Waratahs lost the SIRU grand final 41-7 to Albury, Palmer is back in command at the Wagga club for a second season.
Palmer, who has coached in Canada, England and Europe, will assume the position of “head coach” at the club.
The role will carry the responsibility for “coaching standards” across all grades, but concentrating on first grade.
Classy centre Pat Barrett will return to Waratahs after a flirtation with the Riverina Football League with Mangoplah this year, taking on the job of backs coach at the club.
At this stage Barrett is undecided whether he will play for Tahs
