TALENTED midfielder Jackson Kew is the latest Wagga Tigers player to leave the den.
Kew will make the move to Melbourne in coming weeks where he has signed with Essendon and District Football League club Doutta Stars.
He will join his cousin and former Marrar gun Brad Langtry, along with former Wagga footballer Justin Kahlefeldt, at the Melbourne-based club.
Kew spent the past two seasons at Wagga Tigers, where he enjoyed a third-place finish in the club's best and fairest this year.
Kew, 21, said he wanted to try to test himself at a higher standard.
"I wanted to go down and try to play in a stronger league and knowing Brad and Spud at Doutta made me pretty keen to have a run around with them," Kew said. Kew's departure continues a steady flow of players out the Robertson Oval gates this off-season.
Outgoing coach Tom Power has linked with Holbrook, while John Simpson and Kew have now headed to Victoria.
Tigers are likely to be without key forward Dougal Howard due to representative commitments, while fellow talented youngsters Jim Carroll and Connor Byrne have been linked with a move to the border.
Kew said it was a tough call to leave Tigerland.
"Knowing that Tigers are in such good stead over the next few years with Ravs coaching and loads of talent coming through the juniors made it hard," Kew said.
"It will be disappointing to miss out on what hopefully will be plenty of success for the club."
Kew is one of many signings for Doutta Stars over the off-season and he cannot wait to get started with his new club.
"I'm stoked to sign with them," Kew said.
"They've picked up a fair few players and will hopefully get enough wins on the board to play finals next year."
