COOTAMUNDRA president Bill Scott believes new coach Andrew Glover will breathe fresh air into the Tri-Colours this Southern Inland Rugby Union season.
Taking over from long-term mentor Kristian Bodycott, Glover has stepped in to lead the Tri-Colours with a head full of fresh ideas.
With a wealth of experience in tow, Glover has picked up the coaching reins for the first time after more than a decade of service to the Tri-Colours.
Speaking yesterday, Scott admitted Glover's fresh approach could be the key to a Tri-Colours revival.
"He's had a lengthy career with the Tri-Colours, he's been a flying breakaway in his time but also a utility player in the centres and at five-eighth," Scott told The Daily Advertiser yesterday.
"He's been with the club on and off for about 12 years, so he brings an absolute wealth of knowledge to the club from his time away at Robb College and various representative rugby experiences.
"He brings Scott Byrne with him, he was a great winger, centre or fullback and he'll bring a lot to the club as well."
The addition of Glover at the Tri-Colours marks the final SIRU club to settle its coaching staff for the upcoming season, set to start on April 13.
After finishing just short of a consecutive first division premiership at the end of last year, Bodycott was eager to take a step back from the coaching position and let the club embrace a fresh approach.
Scott insists with a new coach in the top job the Tri-Colours may start to attract better numbers.
"Kristian had a great run, obviously. He brought a lot to the team and did well. He'll still be heavily involved with the club but he decided to take a step back and let some new blood come in," Scott said.
"(Glover) is throwing around some ideas and hopefully that will attract a good volume of players, which is what we need."
Tri-Colours are set to begin preseason training next month.
