In a shock move, Barnes has been called to appear at the tribunal tomorrow night to answer three charges involving his alleged behaviour towards an umpire in the game.
AFL Riverina operations manager Shane Buchanan yesterday revealed Barnes had been reported for allegedly striking, threatening and abusing an umpire.
Buchanan said Barnes would have to defend the triple-charge at the independent tribunal.
"(Barnes) will go just like a player would go the tribunal," Buchanan said.
With the report lodged, Buchanan said AFL Riverina was now seeking information on the alleged incident which could be tabled tomorrow night.
Buchanan yesterday described the reporting of Barnes as "very disappointing".
Barnes yesterday was the only person to be hit with a citation in the aftermath of a melee following the half-time siren in Sunday's elimination final between North Wagga and CSU.
Players, spectators and umpires were swept up in the incident which blotted Sunday's victory by the Saints.
Buchanan said North Wagga and CSU had not attempted to cite any rival players or officials.
"(But) they have two business days from the time of the game," he said.
