Woman killed near Tarcutta

A FEMALE motorist from Sydney has died following a single-vehicle crash near Tarcutta late yesterday afternoon.The accident occurred at around 6.40pm, 20 kilometres north of Tarcutta on the Hume Highway.The 4WD vehicle, towing a caravan, was travelling south and had just passed the Sturt Highway turn-off when the vehicle left the road and rolled a number of times before coming to rest on the north-bound lanes of the highway.Police, ambulance, SES and VRA crews attended the scene and both lanes of the Hume Highway were closed and diversions put in place.A woman, believed to be in her late 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene while a male passenger walked away uninjured.Wagga police were last night preparing a report for the coroner.Anyone travelling near the vehicle at the time of the accident is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
