WAGGA horse racing trainer Bradley Witt has been placed on a good behaviour bond after pleading guilty to his third drink driving offence in six years.Witt, 26, of Travers Street, was stopped by highway patrol police in Trail Street about 8pm on September 17 after they noticed the headlights and tail lights of the utility he was driving were not on.According to police, Witt admitted to having drunk four mid-strength beers between 5pm and 7.40pm.Witt returned a low range blood alcohol reading of .075.His legal representative told Wagga Local Court yesterday that on the day of the offence Witt broke from his normal practice of having a sleep between morning and afternoon training sessions to do quite a few errands.Witt had taken medication for a head cold and had not eaten that day.About 4.30pm, race horse owners had called around for drinks and Witt had consumed four beers in about three hours, the solicitor said.He was heading towards a take-away food shop in Fitzmaurice Street when stopped by police. The ute's headlights were not on because it was not Witt's vehicle and he was used to the lights coming on automatically in his own car."He did not think to do it," the solicitor said.Magistrate Anthony Murray placed Witt on a two-year good behaviour bond, fined him $500 and disqualified him from driving for eight months.Previously, Witt was convicted on drink driving offences in June last year and in July, 2003.
