Ms Hawkins will join former Narrandera model Victoria Lee, who is now based in New York, in the next few days as they prepare to shoot the upcoming Myer winter catalogue.
Ms Hawkins was given a wild welcome to the Riverina as the weather unleashed fury across the region.
Despite a bumpy landing, Ms Hawkins said that she had done a bit of research on the area and was excited to visit for the first time.
Up to four Narrandera farms are expected to provide the backdrop for the catalogue shoot, following in the footsteps of Maddison magazine which has reportedly also shot spreads on a property not far from Narrandera in the past.
Among the small group of onlookers that gathered to meet Ms Hawkins was 15-year-old aspiring model Olivia Deen.
Accompanied by her mum Rochelle, Kaylah Faulkner and Phoebe Deen, Olivia posed for photos with the friendly supermodel before giving her a letter with a short message and her Twitter and Facebook details.
According to the girls Ms Hawkins exceeded all expectations.
"I'll probably hug her, I'm that nervous," Rochelle said.
The group was left star-struck and in awe as Ms Hawkins was ushered into a waiting car.
"I loved her shoes and her hair," Kaylah said.
"And she touched my arm!"
Almost lost for words, Olivia described the experience as "so good".
