Former Wagga man wanted in Europe, America and Australia

08 Nov, 2010 12:00 AM
A FORMER Wagga man is wanted in five states as well as Europe and America after allegedly stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from unwitting women.

Andrew John Harper, 39, claims to be a global entrepreneur with an estimated fortune of $1.6 billion and has duped 17 women under the alias Dr Ryan Reece DuPont.

The string of swindles has left victims devastated in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide as well as Norway, Sweden and the US states of Denver, Illinois, California and Hawaii.

A blog, www.andrewj harper.blogspot.com, has been set up to warn other women and details his life, stating "in 1995, he was married to a Wagga woman called Simone and they had a baby boy in 1998".

The blog also says that Harper still has a number of brothers and sisters in the Wagga area and had a falling out with his father after some money allegedly went missing.

According to reports in Melbourne's Sunday Herald Sun, Harper stole his latest victim's entire life savings of $60,000 after contacting her on a dating website under the identity "Chivalryisnotdeadxx".

Ka therine Pizzey, a 36-year-old mother of two from Mount Martha in Melbourne, was conned in just four months and is now unemployed after Harper convinced her to leave her job.

Harper was last seen on the Mornington Peninsula on October 22 and is wanted for questioning by Victoria Police regarding a range of fraud and deception allegations.
