A COOLAMON family is without a home after it was engulfed by fire yesterday.Several calls to triple-0 notified emergency services of the fire at the Wade Street home about 9.40am.The first of the fire crews on the scene found the structure of the timber home to be alight and smoking.By 10.05am the house was "totally involved", a NSW Fire Brigades (NSWFB) spokesman said. While the frame is still standing, the house, which was the home of Coolamon newsagent Greg Guthrie and his family, was completely destroyed. The adjacent garage was also ruined in the blaze.NSWFB Coolamon captain Phil Furnell said the fire moved swiftly."Very quickly," he said."When we got there, the back portion was engulfed in fire, and also the shed."No one was inside the house at the time. The fire was completely out by 2.20pm, with investigations into the fire by police continuing well into the afternoon. The Coolamon NSWFB stayed at the house until around 5pm.Captain Furnell said last night he did not believe the cause of the fire was suspicious, investigations into the blaze are continuing today.Police expect to compile a report for the coroner.
