Wagga’s KU preschools are gearing up to celebrate a milestone on Saturday when they mark 10 years of service.
KU manages four Wagga preschools including KU Kangaroo, KU Kingfisher, KU Koala and KU Kookaburra.
While the services have hit the 10 year mark with KU, they have been around for 36 years.
The Wagga Nursery Kindergarten society opened Kangaroo in 1980 and also formed six other preschools.
These services were managed by a voluntary board which was made up of two parents from each preschool.
As health and safety regulations got tighter and paperwork got more involved the board could not continue to manage the preschools. KU took over four, two closed and one was taken over by a church.
KU Kangaroo director Cindy King has been working at the preschool for 19 years.

A focus on relationships with children is a top priority at the preschools.
“We’re trained in circle of security which supports children's attachment needs,” Mrs King said.
Each morning staff are in the same place for 35 minutes.
“The children know where each staff member will be which provides a predictable environment each morning,” Mrs King said.
KU preschool staff, families and teachers will gather on Saturday November 26 to celebrate the 10 year milestone.
Celebrations are set to take place from 10am to midday at Collins Park on 131 Forsyth Street.
The day will include a picnic with refreshments, food and children’s entertainment, and brief formalities commencing at 10:30am.
