Four teenagers and one 43-year-old man faced court on Wednesday after a clash with police which saw officers allegedly punched and spat on while attempting to make an arrest in Wagga on Tuesday.
Another 19-year-old woman was previously granted conditional bail after being charged with hindering police and affray.
On the same day, in a separate incident of alleged violence against police, a 27-year-old man was refused bail after allegedly hitting a police officer in the face with a backpack full of guns during a chase in Kooringal.
Brandon Williams, from Glenfield Park, appeared in Wagga Local Court on Wednesday accused of allegedly assaulting an officer during a vehicle and foot chase in Menzies Avenue just after 2pm on Tuesday.
Magistrate Halburd said Mr Williams faced "very serious" charges involving alleged possession of a cut-down shotgun, a handgun, an electric TASER stun gun and drugs, and remanded him to reappear on January 17.
"The prosecution has a strong case," Magistrate Halburd said.
Acting Superintendent Winston Woodward said it was "disappointing" some members of the community felt they could assault police officers.
"Police were there to effect an arrest and all of a sudden, members of a household and other members have arrived home ... there was no communication ... it was violence from the word go," he said.
"It was a particularly disappointing day ... in relation to violence for our officers.
"They're a very tough breed the cops, they get up they keep going, dust themselves off, come back to work the next day and do it all over again."
In Wagga Local Court on Wednesday, police alleged Julie-Ann Cavanough, aged 18 from Ashmont, was "one of the key players" due to her punching a male constable repeatedly in the head and knocking him to the ground.
The officer was treated for minor bumps and bruises but was otherwise uninjured.
"The officer involved was not what I would describe as a small individual ... he essentially had to get her in a bear hug while lying on the ground," the prosecutor said.
Ms Cavanough's solicitor told the court she intended to plead not guilty and Magistrate Christopher Halburd granted bail, due to her age and lack of prior charges, to reappear on January 18.
The prosecutor also told the court that while Ms Cavanough was being arrested, Allan Cavanagh, aged 43 from Tolland, allegedly grabbed the head of a male detective senior constable.
The prosecutor opposed bail for Mr Cavanagh, telling the court he had a "history of violence and escaping custody".
Magistrate Christopher Halburd granted Mr Cavanagh bail to reappear on January 18.
Police alleged Decklan Orcher, aged 19 from Ashmont, used a garden hose to spray water on officers.
Mr Orcher's solicitor told the court his client's alleged "level of involvement was not as significant" as other defendants, but the prosecutor opposed bail, saying he had a criminal record that ran to 36 pages.
Mr Orcher was remanded to reappear on January 25.
A 14-year-old boy accused of punching and kicking a constable and spitting in the face of a detective senior constable also appeared, as did a 17-year-old boy on charges of threatening police.
