The "perfect storm" of COVID-19 self-isolation, interstate travel and holidays has put pressure on donation levels across Australia with more than half of all appointments to donate not being attended.
"Every week, the Wagga Donor Centre needs around 400 blood and plasma donors," Red Cross Lifeblood spokesperson said.
"In the next two weeks, a further 300 blood and plasma donors are still needed at Wagga.
"All blood types are needed all of the time, however at the moment we are in particular need of O+, O-, A+ and A- blood types."
Meg Davies, from Wagga, made her 59th blood and plasma donation on Tuesday.
"I started donating in school when the blood bank came out to West Wyalong and I've kept coming back as the nurses are so friendly," she said.
"I'd definitely encourage anyone who can give blood to do so. It's a small thing that makes such a difference."
