Grovelands Cherries Wagga is the most recent business to have fallen victim.
The business had been running its annual cherry competition via the platform when residents started reaching out to owner Kristy Barton to inform her of suspicious activity.
Multiple accounts posing as Grovelands Cherries on Facebook began targeting people in the comment section on Mrs Barton's competition post.
"What we're seeing is people who have been tagged in the comments, or who have commented are receiving messages from scam accounts- or the scammers are sending them a friend request from a fake Grovelands Cherries account- or they're commenting with a link saying congratulations you've won," Mrs Barton said.
Mrs Barton said once you click on the link, you're directed to a form asking you for your credit card details.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"Businesses don't send out friend requests, you only like their page, so don't accept friend requests and don't click on links," she said.
One differentiating clue between a scammer and business to look out for according to Mrs Barton is poor grammar or spelling.
Grovelands Cherries isn't the only local business targeted by Facebook scammers.
Earlier in the month AutoOne Wagga urged residents to report a false Facebook page going by the same name which had been contacting people who had been interacting with the legitimate page and informing them they had won a prize.
Mrs Barton said she is also aware of at least two other Riverina businesses to have fallen victim to Facebook scam accounts, including the Junee Licorice and Cholocate Factory and Nutrien Ag Solutions Wagga which both came about after they posted about a competition they were holding.
