Shoppers were not deterred from heading down to Wagga's CBD on Christmas Eve for some last-minute shopping despite the re-introduction of the COVID-19 mask mandate and mandatory business QR Code check-ins.

The restrictions were re-introduced by NSW Health on Thursday to come into play on Friday.
While not everyone is pleased to see the return of restrictions not long after they were eased, business owners and shoppers weren't fazed as it has become common practice to wear masks when indoors and to check in upon entering a business.
By 10am on Christmas Eve, Baylis Street was filled with residents donning their masks.

Billy and Bear owner Mark Wilksch and Chez Creations owner Cheryl King, who both have pop-up stalls located in the Wagga Marketplace, were more than happy to oblige and to have seen locals supporting locally.
Get Knotted's Bryce Hagen, who also has a stall in the Marketplace, had been wary of the easing of restrictions to begin with.
"[The lack of masks] can be quite worrying when I'm working as I might have to attend to probably 80 to 100 customers per day," he said.
