A Riverina farmer who lost his leg in a recent machinery accident will spend Christmas Day at home with his family before continuing his rehabilitation.
The Rock's Aaron McCarthy sustained an amputation injury to one leg during a freak accident on December 14 and saved his own life by applying a tourniquet and calling emergency services.

The father-of-two was transported to Wagga Airport and flown to Canberra Hospital where he underwent surgery.
On December 20, he was transferred closer to home to Wagga Base Hospital where his recovery is ongoing.
Close family friend Kim Heffernan described Mr McCarthy to be in "good spirits" and said he was looking forward to spending Christmas at home with his young family.
"He will be able to leave for a few hours on Christmas Day and will return to continue his recovery," she said.
"Aaron is recovering well under the team of dedicated rehabilitation doctors at [Wagga Base Hospital]."

Ms Heffernan launched a crowdfunding page last week to help support Mr McCarthy's family while he is unable to work.
'Help Aaron & his family' has managed to raise more than $40,000, and the tally is still climbing, thanks to the generosity of the public and rallying of his local community.
Updating the fundraising page, Ms Heffernan wrote: "Both Aaron and Tahnee thank you so much for your generous donations and wish you a safe and happy time with your families over the Xmas period".
"Aaron and Tahnee are extremely grateful for the support they have received," Ms Heffernan said on Friday.
"It will be a long process but one they are grateful to be able to do."
