The New Zealand import made it three wins from as many starts in the country with his MIA Breeders Plate heat win at Leeton last week.
He set a two-year-old track record of 1:55.6 after leading all the way from barrier one and now he's come up with the inside alley again for Sunday's group three final.
Reinsman Blake Jones is more than happy to start from the inside draw.
"I'm very happy with that and you're not going to knock one back that's for sure," Jones said.
While barrier one looks an ideal barrier draw however Sugar Apple is not the only Breeders Plate hopeful to secure a nice draw.
Bathurst Gold Crown winner Mister Rea has drawn three while Quartzite will start from barrier seven after being forced to race outside Sugar Apple in their heat.
The other heat winner National News should start from barrier four if the emergency does not gain a start.
"It is a bit of an interesting draw as Mister Rea has drawn not too bad as well and Quartzite was really good in the heat and it's going to get a good run there too if we can hold up the top," Jones said.

Heading into the first turn at Leeton has seen many a Breeders Plate hopeful come unstuck.
However Jones was pleased with how Sugar Apple utilised the inside alley in his heat and is confident he can do it again.
"He just came out on his own accord the other night and I didn't chase him or anything like that and they run a pretty solid lead time into that first corner," he said.
"I think he should be able to hold up from there.
"While Steve (Maguire on Noble Trick) did grab hold at the winning post we still hit that first corner with a fair bit of speed and he didn't miss a beat.
"He felt really comfortable and fingers crossed he should be sweet."
Jones and partner Ellen Bartley have been preparing Sugar Apple for Inter Dominion-winning trainer Jason Grimson.
The Narrandera reinsman has been pleased with the son of Sweet Lou since his heat win.
"He had a light little work out (Wednesday) and felt super," Jones said.
"He pulled up through the run good and hasn't missed a feed. He's been licking out the feed bin and seems 100 per cent.
"It's all going good so far."
Jones won the Breeders Plate with Business In Motion in 2013.
He believes it is by far his best chance of adding another.
"I always look forward to the Leeton carnival but when you've drawn number one in the main race it definitely gets you pretty excited about it," Jones said.
