PRIDE IN WAGGA'S BIKE NETWORK
I'm proud to live in a city with the best bike paths of a regional city in NSW.
For one person who hates these tracks I know another 10 who benefit and use this network daily. This network wasn't even funded by council (it came from state grants) yet people are complaining.

Would you rather not apply for grants and have no bike paths and also have potholes?
The bike paths aren't responsible for the potholes. I think you'd find that the state government is at fault for not giving council more money to maintain roads, keep in mind that most councils are pretty much always broke and rely on government grants to maintain their infrastructure.
With all this in mind could you still say the bike paths were a mistake?

GRATEFUL FOR CONTRIBUTION
What a massive help from the girls that make the farmers and truckies feel less stressful after a difficult grain harvest caused by the rain events. We should, as farmers, take comfort and be so grateful for the huge contribution of these caring and hardworking young girls who are so willing to help out with the movement of this near-record grain harvest. It opens your eyes to see them climbing to the top of these huge heaps of wheat with shovels in their hands spreading the grain away from the giant elevators that form the dumps, working in the dust and heat they seem to love doing it.
These helpers, some of them come from three states of our country, and thumbs up to the Ganmain and Coolamon girls that sample and test the grain and issue the paperwork plus operate the weighbridges. They have been hugely praised by many of the semi trailer drivers for their diligence.

This harvest has been quoted by the agricultural department to be a possible $75 billion boost to the Australian economy. Along with coal, these two highly regarded and most stable, honest industries add to the welfare of this nation. Suck it up you less-regarded knockers, get a life and realise where you fill your bloated stomachs from and get behind the honest and hardworking rural contributors that keep this nation moving.
It is very comforting to see farmers and truckies united in making a sensible approach and showing respect to the girls.
Thumbs up again to the farmers, truckies and the girls for their terrific contribution for our country. Good luck with your studies at uni.

BIBLE INFLUENCE EVIDENT ON PM
Scott Morrison's use of women as props and inability to find empathy when they are abused or mistreated is not overly surprising ("Morrison as a spokesperson for women?", December 21). A further example is his use of some of the few women in the lower house to be strategically placed in camera line of sight behind him.
He brings Jenny out or into the conversation when he thinks it might be politically useful. To some extent this inability to empathise with women may stem from his involvement with a Pentecostal church.
These churches treat the Bible as literally true and in the Bible women are most definitely lesser beings that are subservient to men. Morrison may not be deliberately lacking in empathy he just may not know any better.
