Two Wagga police officers have been treated after they were allegedly punched in the face during an arrest in Wagga.

About 3.45pm on Thursday, officers attached to the Riverina Proactive Crime Team were patrolling in Ashmont when they observed a man they knew to be wanted on outstanding warrants.
Police approached the 19-year-old man and during his arrest, he allegedly he pushed a male senior constable before attempting to flee.
The man then allegedly punched the officer and another male constable.

He was arrested and taken to Wagga Police Station where he was charged with four outstanding warrants, as well as resisting an officer in execution of duty and two counts of assaulting officers in execution of duty.
Later that day about 6pm, a 36-year-old woman was arrested at Wagga Police Station and charged with three outstanding warrants.
Police will allege in court that the man and woman were involved in a break, enter and steal in Broken Hill between November 7 and 11. Both were refused bail to appear in Wagga Local Court on Friday.
The officers were treated for swelling and bruising to their faces.
