Reinhold has signed with Port Melbourne and will move back to Melbourne early in January in time for the resumption of pre-season training.
Reinhold's departure is the only blotch on what has otherwise been a strong off-season recruitment drive for the Kangaroos.
The 20-year-old returned home to Temora mid-season and showed his class by having a big impact in his seven appearances.
Reinhold is keen to have a crack at VFL level once the opportunity presented.
"They got in touch with me through my old coach, Heath Scotland," Reinhold said.
"He's mates with some of the Port coaches and they got in touch. I'm keen to get in and have a crack.
"It should be a good challenge. I'm looking forward to it."
Reinhold started last season with Western Region club Sunshine and had impressed before COVID called an early end to the season.

He returned home and managed seven games for Temora, which proved enough for him to finish runner up in the Kangaroos' best and fairest.
Reinhold began his time in senior football in defence but made a big impact for Temora this season through the midfield, as well as being able to hit the scoreboard when forward.
Reinhold thought the opportunity to test himself at VFL level was too good to pass up.
"I was 50-50, whether I kept playing local footy down in Melbourne but once Port got in contact, it was a pretty easy decision," he said.
"You don't get these opportunities too much and it might not happen ever again."
Reinhold is the first loss for Temora, who will enter next season under new coach Russell Humphrey. They have welcomed back Dan Leary, along with Sam Jensen, Tim Shea, Kieran Shea, Charlie Boynton and Justin Galloway from Canberra.
"Things are looking good. We've got the Canberra boys back and a few more locals. The back half of the year we were playing some good footy," Reinhold said.
