An "extremely popular" trial bus service connecting Tumut to Wagga, and the communities in between, has been extended until June 23 next year.

Deputy Premier Paul Toole said services such as this are vital for locals to access medical appointments, buy groceries and stay connected with friends and family in nearby towns.
It is operated by Goodes Coaches and offers a return trip each Wednesday from Tumut, Adelong, Tarcutta and Wagga.

Wagga MP Joe McGirr said it is "important" the trial continue, particularly for those accessing medical facilities.
Wagga MLC Wes Fang added that it's the first time some of these communities have had access to a public transport service.
"The service has provided the community with an accessible and affordable travel option, and I encourage locals to return to using the service to help Transport for NSW evaluate its future," he said.
