Joe Oliver is set to return to his hometown club after spending time in development programs with Penrith and Bulldogs.
Temora coach McCrone is thrilled to have him on board to further book their playmaking stocks.
"He hasn't played footy for a few years after a couple of injuries but he's keen to have a run this year," McCrone said.
Oliver will be an important addition with former coach Sam Elwin set to move to Newcastle.
Elwin missed last season after injuring his knee in the pre-season.
His loss was a big blow to Temora's chances of ending their finals drought.

Elwin feels the time is right to make a move.
"I could have went to a couple of clubs in Newcastle over the past few years but I've always decided to stay back and help Temora try to get out of some tough times," Elwin said.
"I believe they are heading in the right direction with plenty of depth so I don't feel I'm obliged to stick around too much longer.
"I'm putting myself first."
Elwin will link with South Newcastle.
The Dragons are also set to welcome Zach Starr back to the club.
Starr was an important part of the club's forward pack in 2019 before linking with Young after the Dragons didn't take part in the shortened 2020 season.
He remained at the Cherrypickers this year but had limited opportunities in first grade.
Rejoining brother Hamish at the club, McCrone believes Starr is another big body the Dragons need.
"He wants to have a run with Hamish again which is really good," he said.
"It's massive for us as we probably lacked a bit of size in the middle."
Temora have already re-signed Luke Skidmore, who will travel again from Canberra to play and McCrone is confident they are continuing to head in the right direction.
Especially as they keep looking to boost their side.
"We'll have more additions than we will have losses," McCrone said.
However Jaiden Burke is unlikely to be back for a second season.
Temora have the bye to start the season but were drawn as the first holder of Group Nine's new challenge cup.
