2022 has been described as "huge", given that numerous productions forced to cancel or postpone during the past two years due to the pandemic will slot in between a stellar line-up of fresh performances.
The Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Dance Company along with numerous stunning productions with some local flavour are set to excite the masses.
Civic Theatre manager Carissa Campbell said funding for the arts sector which has struggled in recent times has meant their latest season, which initially seemed small, is now exploding with content.
"All this extra funding for the arts, which we really appreciate, has meant that every show has been funded," she said. "It's actually given us a lot more shows which is exciting."
Monday night's official launch saw an astounding crowd gather at the theatre to catch a glimpse of what they can expect next year hot off the press. "We actually had the biggest turnout for a launch we've ever had since I've been here," Ms Campbell said.
The launch also detailed the theatre's latest subscription which gives patrons early access to in-demand shows and the best seats in the house.
"We always make sure we incorporate plays, opera, dance, circus, contemporary music, everything. So out of 14 shows, you only need to choose four for a subscription," Ms Campbell said.
Among the new productions is Critical Stages Touring producer Chris Bendall's Black Sun/Blood Moon, a story inspired by the 2019 climate change strikes.
"I set the play in Wagga ... so it's really amazing to be premiering it here next year," he said.
"It's really important that we can build access to great contemporary theatre, important conversations and live engagement across Australia and across regional New South Wales."
