The first day of Wagga Sunrise Rotary Club's annual real Christmas tree sales for local children charities saw more than half of the first bunch of tree's sold through pre-sales.

Club president Dave Brady said they had already sold the majority of the first bunch of this years' trees by 10.30am.
Although, not much can be said until the final day of sales, next Sunday, even founder and organiser Dave O'Grady said Saturday's sales were similar figures to last year's.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"We have sold about 113 trees today [Saturday] alone," Mr O'Grady said.
The funds will go to charities including Wagga Base Hospital as well as the Villomah program, which provides support to grieving families who have lost a child or baby.
Mr O'Grady said those who missed out on a Christmas tree can come back next Saturday or Sunday as they will be selling more then at the Bunnings car park.
