That message is to not let themselves be held back.
Mr Reardon in partnership with employment agency Sureway is encouraging Riverina employers to take on more people with disabilities.
At 12-years-old Mr Reardon lost his lower leg in a farming accident, a life-changing occurrence which he chose to combat.
Sureway Riverina representative Cath Roze said Mr Reardon is the perfect example of pushing through the barriers of disability.
"The message we want to put out there on International Day of People with a Disability is to our clients to not let anything hold you back," Ms Roze said.
"But also to businesses that people with disabilities make for valuable employees.
"We're also using the day as an opportunity to give the community a sense that there are people in our community that do have barriers to employment, but more importantly, some barriers which aren't visible.
"We help a lot of clients who struggle with mental health, the majority of our clients' barriers are mental health related, and that's not something you can see, so to have the opportunity to, especially on a day like this, to bring awareness around the different types of disabilities, it's very important, because it can often have a stigma attached to it."
Ms Roze said Mr Reardon is proof that there is a job out there for everybody.
IN OTHER NEWS:
For Mr Reardon, he may have had his own barriers, but they didn't stop him from building himself a career in elite sport
"Having a career has provided me with financial security, stimulating challenges, and a purpose to go through life each day," he said.
"Studies show employees with disabilities tend to be reliable, productive and loyal. So, as well as it is a good thing to do, the business case is really strong," he said.
"Studies also show that employing a person with a disability doesn't cost any more than employing someone without a disability. In fact, the benefits of increased workplace morale and reputation amongst customers may bring greater economic opportunities to a business."
Ms Roze said Sureway role is advocating for their clients and educating businesses on what clients can bring to the business.
