The Junee product made it two heat wins from as many attempts as the lightly-raced trotter proved Saturday's win at big odds was no fluke.
Instead for the second time running, Timothy Red was the fastest trotter of the night, setting a new track record of 1:56.2 for the 1730 metres at Bathurst on Wednesday.
Hart is thrilled with how the four-year-old, trained by Joe and Mary Rando, has started the series.
"He's putting his best foot forward at the moment and he's definitely been a horse who has shown ability the whole way through but it's a bit of a surprise when he is so lightly raced that he is doing so well," Hart said.
"I've always liked him but thought his best racing would be 12 months away but he's got such good speed."
Timothy Red has come in from $201 to be a $5.50 chance to win the final.
Hart is already having his best season yet and his success so far in the series just adds another layer to it.
"When you're growing up in the sport that is what you aspire to do - win an Inter Dominion - so to be up there with a couple of chances this year is pretty exciting," he said.

While already qualified for the final on December 11, things will get tougher after drawing the outside of the front row for the third round of heats at Newcastle on Sunday.
Timothy Red has taken advantage of preg-line runs so far, but Hart is confident he's more than versatile enough to overcome trickier barrier draws.
"He's got that really high speed so he's pretty versatile and can come from on the pace or off it," he said.
Hart is also pleased with how Majestic Cruiser has started his campaign in the pacers series.
He sits in seventh in the overall standings with a second and a fourth from his first two efforts.
Majestic Cruiser, who is trained by former Young horseman Jason Grimson, has drawn three in his heat on Sunday.
Hart will also drive the Riverina-owned Rusty Crackers in the series after two eighths so far.
