The Sharks need to replace a number of key roles, including two vice-presidents and Callander's position as treasurer.

After 12 years on the board, the long-serving goalkeeper took to social media to urge volunteers to step up or risk the club being unable to form a committee.

President Andrew Manton is staying at the helm. He allayed any fears the club could fold but said, like most clubs, they need support.

"We've been in conversations with people (about the vacant roles)," Manton said.

"As always, and at every club, we'd love more people to put their hand up. Many hands make light work.

"I love the job... and I'm looking forward to the AGM and hoping to see some new faces."

Manton said since he and Callander have been on the board, the Sharks have grown from around 350 players to 670 this year.

"We want to keep growing and keep getting better," he said.

Callander, aiming up for a 26^th season playing seniors, can't commit to a board role again. With other key vacancies arising, he was worried the calls for new blood weren't getting through.

The club he's been with since 1988 (as a junior) means a heck of a lot to him, and he said a serious call for more support was necessary, because no club has a future without a strong committee.

"It needed to be something a little bit more blunt and let everyone know where it's at," Callander said.

"It's one of the biggest amateur clubs around in regional NSW and it's just a good, family club. It's all about inclusion and we want to be in good hands and get a refresh of ideas and people."

Callander said it's highly rewarding to be formally involved.

"The biggest one is when you go down on a Saturday morning to Duke of Kent and there's a thousand kids running around, a couple of hundred are wearing the red and black... to see how much fun they have, it's so rewarding," he said.

"And being involved in the community, especially the last two years. Kids have had a pretty rough deal with COVID so helping offer that outlet to them has been great."

Manton started out as an under 12s coach and is now a long-serving president.

He thanked outgoing vice-presidents Mat Hof and Kristian Bonetti and is looking forwarding to seeing others step into the roles.

"Having other people help showed us that it's much more enjoyable when there's lots of people doing stuff. "

The Sharks' AGM is at 7pm next Wednesday at the clubhouse at Rawlings Park.
