A child has died after an accident involving a truck on a Riverina property at the weekend.

About 11.30am on Sunday, emergency services were called to Glynburn Road, Temora, after reports of an incident involving a 20-month-old boy and truck.
Officers from Riverina Police District attended and spoke with the driver, a 27-year-old man, who is known to the child. He was taken for mandatory testing.

Detective Acting Inspector Josh Broadfoot, from the Riverina Police District, said it was a "horrific and sad" scene for emergency service personnel.
"These tragedies are very tough on small communities and have a wider impact on the morale in the area," he said.
"We are preparing a brief for the coroner.
"We are also doing all we can to look after the welfare of the police who attended."
A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident is under way.
Temora mayor Rick Firman said the death of the child had sent shockwaves throughout the entire community.
"All I can say is our thoughts and our prayers are with the family and we are here for them whenever they wish to reach out," he said.
"It has had a profound impact on the community and it affects people in different ways."
