And every year, a group of riders band together to make sure that Wagga children can enjoy that tradition of the festive season.
The Combined Riders of Wagga have been organising the Toy Run for more than 30 years, and this year it will take place on December 4.
District coordinator Pat Combs said there are a lot of children out there who would not get a toy at Christmas if not for the run.
"We want to make sure they have something under the tree to open," he said.
"People can meet us at the spots to donate toys, or they can wave down the utes behind the bikes, which can stop and take donations.
"We are catering from three to 15-year-olds, so any donations are great.
All cash donations are spent on toys, and all toys are donated to the Salvation Army and St Vincent de Paul for distribution in the Riverina.
During the Toy Run's history, more than $250,000 worth of toys have been donated to charity.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Keen riders can sign up from 7.30am at Jubilee Oval Car Park but must bring a toy to donate to join. The run will kick off at 9am.
For safety reasons, do not try to give toys to the riders while they are on the road.
Riders will reach Forest Hill Park at about 9.45am, Apex Park at about 10.30, Henwood Park from 11am, to 11.15am, Ashmont Oval from 11.35am and the Civic Centre from 12.20pm.
The Toy Run will finish at the Civic Centre with a lucky door prize, a raffle and a sausage sizzle. For more information, go to www.waggatoyrun.org.
